World Series Preview (Su11): Wheels Up

written by

For the second time in league history the World Series will be played in November.

World Series (Sunday, November 6, 2011)
  • 11:30 AM (Blue) #2 Scared Hitless at #1 Superman's Wheelchair
  • 12:30 PM (Green) #1 Superman's Wheelchair at #2 Scared Hitless
  • 1:30 PM (Blue) #2 Scared Hitless at #1 Superman's Wheelchair (if necessary)

As the higher seed, Superman's Wheelchair got to pick what field they played Games 1 and 3 on. Rumor has it they picked the field preferred by Scared Hitless in last season's playoffs to take away any kind of field advantage in Game 2.

This is Wheelchair's second World Series appearance in four seasons of play, they beat NWO in the Summer 2010 fall classic to take home their first Commissioner's Trophy.

This will be the fourth appearance for Scared Hitless in the Fall Classic. They have lost the last three times, twice to the Blandsford Barnburners and once to the Catalista Revolucion.

Only the Canvassers have made the playoffs more than Scared Hitless, 10 times, of which they have won 5 World Series. Hitless is appearing in their seventh postseason without ever winning the final game of the season.

The two teams have met three times with Wheelchair winning all three meetings. A 3-0 victory in Spring 2010, a 5-0 victory in Summer 2010, and a 1-0 victory in Spring 2011. With four Divisions to keep a balanced schedule, the two teams did not meet this season.

November Wiffleball (Su11): Playoff Weekend Take 2

written by

We’ve only played wiffleball in November once before. It was also our only playoff games played at night. It was freezing cold, and not even the walk-up music that Brosephorous Rex played when they came to bat could keep us all warm, or keep the Canvassers from winning their 5th World Series.

With any luck we won’t need to wait that long to finish this season.
