DCS #2 Preview (Sp12): Slightly Offensive Logos

Written by - Posted 2012-06-14 21:32 in News

Spring 2012 Division Championship Series
Round 1 – Series #2

We’d Hit That

Superman’s Wheelchair
#7 (9-5)
#2 (13-1)

The defending World Champion Superman’s Wheelchair get the #2 seed heading into post-season losing out the top seed by run differential. That sets up a battle of two teams with slightly offensive logos and team names. But, only slightly.

Wheelchair continues to be the same team they have been over four consistent seasons, winning two World Championships. Joe Thaman isn’t planning to have another baby this year, which cost Wheelchair an early exit in Spring 2011. With Thaman there to hold the opponents to a run or less, Wheelchair ought to be able to scrape together enough runs to advance.

The second rookie team to make they playoffs, We’d Hit That is still a bit of a mystery. Manager and star player Brian Hollrah is technically a rookie, but has AB’s over three seasons under his belt. For a team in the top five in the league in most offensive categories it will be interesting to see how they match up against three time Cy Young Winner Thaman. If they are lucky enough to see Keeven in Game 2, expect a least a few bombs.

Franchise History: They have never played each other.
