Week 1 (Su10): Wheelchair Rolls; Order Restored to the World
We only had seven games Week 1 because of the nine team schedule (which includes a Week 8 for the first time) but the smaller number didn’t disappoint.
The most anticipated game of the week, perhaps the season, was the first of four matchups between former teammates and now divisional rivals Tony Ragano and Alex Filides. Filides won round one with a walk-off homer in the 3rd extra frame…off Ragano, of course.
Pre-season favorite and last season’s World Series runner up Scared Hitless dropped a game to Superman’s Wheelchair, formerly known as Fear and Loathing on the Base Path. They were short handed, their second string pitcher Brian Ford is on a road trip following Miley Cyrus around the country and their offensive surprise from last season Kyle O’Grady was attending a musical theatre performance before dusting his antique doll collection.
Lots of wiffleball to be played, including our first look at the Master Batters when they start their season next week after a bye today. Their season-ending meltdown (forfeits the last week) allowed Clubber Lang to sneak into the playoffs in the Spring.

That’ll happen… except of course when I’m on 3rd base in the playoffs with the season on the line.
AC, Aug 9, 12:12 PM:
wow, an entire paragraph dedicated to making excuses for scared hitless and minimizing the win for superman’s wheelchair. how about a good game, way to show up with your wheel’s greased and cape in the air?
