6 Innings with Mindie Reule

This week, we're chatting with Mindie Reule, player for the Borg. Some people think she's the best female player in the league, which is kind of like being the first runner up in the sheep category at the county fair. She dives for catches, hits the ball hard, and isn't afraid to run over a player on the basepaths if they get in her way. If she had a good nickname, we'd almost say she was a ball player.

TWIF: What is your favorite baseball team and who is your favorite baseball player of all time?
MR: Seattle Mariners. Ichiro Suzuki.

TWIF: What is your favorite thing about Wiffleball?
MR: Running around outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

TWIF: If you could put a Wiffleball anywhere, where would you put it?
MR: Over the fence, I guess.

TWIF: Who is the player in the league you'd most like to see get hit by a car while chasing a foul ball?
MR: I would say Ross Duenas b/c he is a threat to my team but he would probably still keep hitting homeruns, even with casts on his legs.

TWIF: Left Field or Right Field?
MR: Left Field. My dad always said right field is for people with polio.

TWIF: You have played three seasons, have 95 plate appearances, have come very close to being nominated for player of the week several times, and yet you’ve never put a ball over the fence. Only one inside the park homerun. How does it feel to have never experienced the homer, the most satisfying thing in wiffleball?
MR: I am satisfied with my team being first in my division and being in the running for best girl in the league. I have other people on my team to hit the homers, my job is to get on base.
