6 Innings with Kevin Hyde

This week, we're chatting with Kevin Hyde, manager of the Hot Sundaes. Despite being the league punching bag, Kevin's not afraid to get personal, either on or off the field.

Name: Kevin Hyde
Team:Hot Sundaes

Hometown: Buffalo, NY
Resides: Alexandria, VA
Employer: IPA International
Seasons: 2005, Spring 2006, Summer 2006, Spring 2007

Throws: Right

TWIF: What is your favorite baseball team and who is your favorite baseball player of all time?
KH: It used to be the Cleveland Indians because I played for them when I was 12. But now it's the Washington Nationals. Nolan Ryan.

TWIF: What is your favorite thing about Wiffleball?
KH: I really enjoy being berated by the commissioner every week. I mean I've been picked on by bigger guys my whole life, but it's not every day I get that kind of attention from my personal hero. Oh, by the way, we beat their team in week 1.

TWIF: Have you ever done anything under the bleachers you're not proud of?
KH: I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any bleachers under which I may or may not have done anything I regret.

TWIF: Who is the player in the league you'd most like to see get hit by a car while chasing a foul ball?
KH: I've already seen Ben Prochazka tear his ACL, so I might as well shoot for lightning striking twice. Nothing against him... it would just be really ironic, but very funny, as long as he was okay.

TWIF: Pitchers Hand or Pegging?
KH: If only I were accurate enough to hit someone in the nuts just before they crossed home plate. That'd really teach them to ALMOST score on the Hot Sundaes.

TWIF: You've been here since the League's Opening Day. Played on two teams, managed for three seasons, made it to the playoffs twice, even won player of the week once, but have never been to the World Series. After Wiffleball, what is the second biggest disappointment in your life?
KH: First of all, my biggest disappointment is that you all of a sudden discontinued putting POTW pictures on the website when I won!!! It must be hard for you to admit that I'm not the slightly below average player you once knew and despised. But the second biggest disappointment is probably my small penis.
